11:34 PM, Spacetober 16th -- Due to an experiment gone wrong, a black hole manifested in the middle of a local star system, and began sucking everything in.

You see this as a very profitable opportunity.

Guide Captain Hugo, a plucky old rocketeer perpetually wanted by the space IRS, on a gravity-bending excursion to salvage space junk falling into the black hole and make enough cash to send his son to space college. Collect as much treasure as you can, but make sure to AWW (always watch (your) weight!), because the heavier your rocket gets, the faster you'll fall towards the black hole! 

Maybe there are some spare parts on your ship you don't need, to free up some extra space. . .
